ResNet will buy back your ethernet card at any time, as long as
it is a card we support (regardless of whether we actually sold it to you), at about
50% of the price we currently sell that card at. Older cards, that have very low demand,
will be bought back at a price lower than 50%. Please keep in
mind there are NO CASH transactions, it will be credited to your
student account.
You can sell the card at the ResNet office any time, and ResNet can provide someone to remove the card if
you are not comfortable doing it yourself. During the beginning
of the Fall term, however, when ResNet is busy installing cards,
removing cards will take a lower priority then installing new
ones. Also, because this is a student-staffed office, appointments
will be unavailable during Finals week.
Before you sell back your card...
Consider the following before selling your card back to us:
- If you plan on returning to housing next year, you can use the
same ethernet card again.
- If you are moving out, but will use a high-speed internet connection
(DSL or a cable modem), this connection will use the same ethernet
card you have now.
- Laptop users can use ethernet in the library if they still have
their card.
- ResNet doesn't pay cash for used ethernet cards, it is credited
to your student account.
